🧶 My Favourite Crochet Projects (and What They Taught Me)

One of the best things about running Crochet & Crafts is watching a simple ball of yarn turn into something beautiful, wearable, and full of personality. Over the years, I’ve made all sorts of things from chunky scarves to ear warmers, but today I want to share a little love for one of my favourite crochet projects so far: The Crochet Clas Top. I see the pattern advertised on Facebook and immediately thought that is menopause friendly, so I bought the pattern. The pattern has now evolved to my own version, I changed some stitches to match my style of crochet.
✨ The Crochet Clas Top – A Labour of Love
This top has quickly become one of my proudest makes. It’s light, lacy, and just the right mix of boho and elegant. I designed it with summer in mind. It’s perfect over a cami, a dress, or even as a beach cover-up.
What I love most is how versatile it is. It’s the kind of piece that looks effortless but makes you feel put-together. And the best part? It’s handmade with care, not mass-produced.
I’ve spotted similar crochet tops on Etsy for £108 and up, which honestly made me smile, not because of the price, but because it reminded me how much value there is in handmade work. Every stitch takes time, patience, and a whole lot of love.
🧵 What This Project Taught Me
Like every good project, the Clas Top came with its own lessons:
- Patience is everything – especially when working with finer yarns and detailed stitches. Learning a new pattern can be frustrating. The end result is very rewarding.
- Fit matters – I spent time adjusting the shape to make sure it drapes just right.
- Confidence grows with every stitch – this top pushed me creatively, and I’m so glad I stuck with it.
It’s a reminder that handmade isn’t just about the end result it’s about the journey, the learning, and the joy of creating something from scratch.
